One of the highest grade teas in Japan, and also one of the most expensive. It is dark green in colour with a sweet, refreshing aroma. Like matcha, it is shaded with bamboo mats before harvest, increasing the chlorophyll content of the tea. This incurs extra labour costs, but also produces extremely high-quality tea.
